Python Maya Tools - Jose and Ivy Tools Display Layer Editor

𝗣𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰) - 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿

During some months I collaborated with José Carlos Munguía, adding up to his original Maya Tools built to aid Vancouver Film School students in their 3D pipelines.

Scripted using Python, this tool helps optimizing environment artist time by creating a base outliner for Static Meshes and UCX.

It groups meshes, adds the proper suffixes and prefixes where needed ('SM', 'UCX'), and groups already blocked-out UCXs. The tool also allows for renaming meshes for all objects in the group automatically, toggling visibility, static meshes and UCXs, and changing layer types and colors. Finally, it provides different export options, taking into account the objects positions.

Focus:
- Python Scripting
- Coding cooperating
- Optimizing art pipeline

Tool Features:
- Automatize outliner hierarchy
- Rename
- Toggle visibility, static mesh and UCX
- Change layer color
- Toggle mesh to Origin
- Export options
- Switch layers position
